Have you ever found the need to manually uninstall the DPM agent from a server?

Perhaps one of the following:

“Error: DPM was unable to remove the protected computer”

“Uninstall Protection agent from <server> failed”

“There is failure while removing production server”

“DPM was unable to remove the protected computer <server>”

“Error 347: An error occurred when the agent operation attempted to create the DPM Agent Coordinator.”

Here’s How You Force the Removal of a DPM Agent

  1. Launch the DPM Management Shell on the DPM Server
  2. Type the name of the remove script – remove-productionserver.ps1
  3. Enter the name of the DPM server
  4. Enter the FQDN of the machine to remove

NOTE: The first attempt to remove failed, this was due to FQDN.
