Enabling Room Lists in the Room Finder in Outlook 2010/2013

By default once you create your meeting rooms, the drop down ‘room list’ will be blank or it will not show up at all.  In order to enable this feature, you merely have to create a new distribution group.  Open an Exchange Powershell session and enter the following commands:

New-DistributionGroup “Meeting Rooms” –RoomList

Add-DistributionGroupMember -Identity “Meeting Rooms” -Member meetingroom1

You will now be able to click the room list drop down box and see it populated with your meeting room list members.
