When Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager is installed without a key, it runs as a 180-day trial. As with most trial installs, an SCCM trial quickly becomes a part of production. This post will guide you through the process of applying the license key to the site. These screenshots were based on SCCM Build 1710 running on Windows Server 2016, but this information and these photos are also applicable to previous builds.

-
Open the Configuration Manager Setup.
-
Choose Next at the first screen.
-
Choose the option to perform site maintenance or reset this site
-
Enter the 25 character license key and choose Next.
-
Fill in all 4 check boxes and choose next.
-
Review the ConfigMgrSetup log to confirm the application of the license key.
That’s all there is to applying the license key. After closing and re-opening the console, the message about the trial period in the menu bar will be gone.
