Here’s a quick walk through on how to setup new Access Points in your network once they have been powered on for the first time.
Adding Access Points to Your Network
Step 1: From the Meraki dashboard, navigate to Organization > Inventory. From here, you should see a list of your current devices.
Step 2: Click on the Claim button towards the top right of the current device list.
Step 3: Enter the order or serial number and click Claim. The new device can now be added to your network.
Step 4: Navigate to Network-wide > Configure > Add devices. Select your newly claimed device to add it to an existing network.
Setting Up Access Points Once You’ve Claimed Them
Step 1: From the Meraki dashboard, navigate to Wireless > Configure > SSIDs and configure SSID info. Note*** Each network can have up to 15 SSIDs, but the recommendation from Meraki is to broadcast no more than 5 to prevent interference.
Step 2: Navigate to Wireless > Configure > Access control to configure further settings such as Network access, encryption, splash page, addressing and traffic, vlan tagging, content filtering, bonjour forwarding, and wireless band options
