iTap
For the iPhone, iPad and Android users of the world, quality mobile access to your internal corporate environment via Remote Desktop Protocol is at hand. A terrific product called “RDP iTap Mobile” is available. This product allows full RDP access into your environment. It offers multiple cursor options that are intuitive and provide for a functional and easy to use end-user experience. It also offers great scaling of the session’s screen when using the iPad. The autohide features of the keyboard and easy access to return it to the display are a solid feature and don’t clutter the screen. It offers the ability to save connection settings, which are very easy to create and manage. The learning curve of this product is almost non-existent.
Blindly opening external access to internal networks for RDP access is a bit risky. To solve this, iTap RDP fully supports Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Services Gateway. For those not familiar with this product, RDS Gateway allows RDP access via SSL (443) through the gateway server to internal servers. Using this, on top of Microsoft’s Threat Management Gateway, is a solid, functional and secure solution for external RDP access.
