Gartner’s Unified Communications Magic Quadrant

By March 30, 2015September 9th, 2020Blog

Gartner Inc. is held in the highest regard for their Information Technology industry analysis. Gartner published their Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications in August and there were some interesting observations worth noting.

First, Gartner now considers the midsize and large enterprise UC markets to be in the early mainstream adoption phase. It appears that the market now recognizes that UC is a mature technology worthy of consideration by the vast majority of businesses.

The magic quadrant is divided into four segments.

  1. Leaders
  2. Challengers
  3. Visionaries
  4. Niche Players

There are five characteristics used to measure the success of a UC solution and customer satisfaction.

  1. User Experience
  2. Mobility
  3. Interoperability
  4. Cloud and Hybrid
  5. Broad solutions appeal

These characteristics are used to define a provider’s Ability to Execute and their Completeness of vision. Those providers who excel in both categories are defined as the industry leaders. Out of the 11 organizations measured in the Gartner’s study, only 4 are considered leaders.

As a Microsoft Gold Partner recognized as one of the leading Microsoft Lync solution providers, we’re excited to report that Microsoft is recognized as top UC provider and Leader in Gartner’s magic quadrant. Their completeness in vision is clearly the best in the industry, and their ability to execute is only matched by Cisco Systems.
