It is very easy to upgrade conversations from IM to Voice to Video within Microsoft Lync 2013
1. Hover over a contacts picture and click the IM icon to start the initial conversation – from this conversation window, I now have the ability to add voice
2. Hover over the phone icon at the bottom of the IM conversation video and select Lync call – this will upgrade your IM conversation to a voice call
3. To add video hover over the camera icon at the bottom of the voice call and select start my video
