Lync Mobile Client
With people busier than ever and always on the go these days Microsofts Lync mobile client is a powerful tool that allows users to connect and communicate on the run. Mobile clients for Lync 2101 provide users with rich presence, audio conferencing and access to multiple communication modes – all from a single easy-to-use interface.
The Lync mobile client allows users to view colleagues’ availability and select the best way to communicate – by instant message, email or phone call. I personally use this feature daily. If a client asks a technical question that I am unable to answer I can use the presence feature to find an available Subject Matter Expert on our team and shoot them a quick instant message or initiate a phone call. This allows me to be very responsive to my client and provide them with the required information in a timely manner.
Another feature which I love and utilize often is the ability to connect to conferences with a single click. I am often out of
the office and need to join a conference remotely. Rather than endanger my life and those around me travelling down I-25 by fumbling to dial conference numbers and enter passcodes I can join with a single click. Awesome.
Mobile clients for Lync will be available for all major smartphone platforms, including iPhone and Android, very shortly. Look for an announcement in the next week or so!
